College Football: Game Plays and Recruitment - Careers - Recruitment

In college sports, players in various sports are tested and trained to be included in college teams. Among these sports is college football. College football is one of the most popular sports in the USA. The goal is to score points by getting the ball into the opposing team's court, or end zone. The ball can be thus brought there by carrying (called a running play) or by throwing it to a teammate known as a passing play). Points can be then scored in a variety of ways, which includes the following actions: carrying the ball over the other team's goal line; catching a pass from another player; kicking the ball through the goal posts located at the opponent's end zone; and tackling an opposing ballcarrier within his end zone. The team with the most points when the time expires is considered the winner.

In every game, each team is either on offense or defense. The designation reflects the division which is that one team has possession of the ball (and is thus able to score) while the other defends and tries to prevent the other team from advancing the ball into the endzone. There are two ways to move the ball forward. One is by holding the ball and running with it. The other is by throwing the ball to a teammate who then runs with the ball until he reaches the endzone. The defense, on the other hand, can deter the offense by tackling the offensive player who is holding the ball. The teams alternately switch roles between offense and defense.
