My husband has been a golfer all his life. When we were just dating, he went golfing quite a bit, at least once a week. You know how it goes, though. We got married, had kids and time gets away from you. He golfed less and less, a few years only getting out a handful of times.
So, flash forward 25 years and here we are. Our youngest now drives and that has had a major impact on our free time-meaning, we actually have some now. Of course, our oldest is 27 and getting married, and the rest are in college and grad school, so there is always something to do-drive to football games, make care packages, help with wedding plans-but still, we are used to navigating five or more games on Saturdays, usually combined with some sort of recital, family party or school event. And that's after a week of homework, practices and all the rest.
This is cake. So when my husband suggested I try golf, I thought, why not? I had never been the slightest bit interested, but who knows? Maybe I would like it, and I needed a hobby. So, the first thing I did was shop women's golf apparel online. I certainly wanted to look the part.
There were tons of options in women's golf apparel. I had no idea this was such a booming market. I found some absolutely adorable outfits, but I really just wanted to order one. I wasn't sure if this was a hobby I would be taking up. So, I ordered a cute top with Capri pants made from material that was made for moisture control. It was orange and white and so cute. Hopefully this innovative material worked-I hate sweatiness.
I took a few lessons from the hubby at the driving range and we went out and played a few of the cheap courses near our home. And, believe it or not, I was pretty good for a beginner. I really liked it too-kind of sporty, but not so intense. His office was having a golf tournament with foursomes in a month and he asked if I wanted to be on a team with him and another coworker and his wife. I agreed and got back online to find another cute outfit.
I was pretty sold on having quality women's golf apparel. The fabrics made playing easier, with their elasticity and fit, plus the breathability and moisture control really did help. This time I got a top with a skirt (the scramble was in early September, so I figured it could be pretty warm still).
I think I have found myself a new time killer. And loving my new women's golf apparel is helping too.
