A great way to avoid any injury while playing a sport is to maintain conditioning. That means your child needs to commit to practicing good nutrition habits and exercise. At minimum your child should participate in a conditioning program six weeks before regular practices are scheduled to begin.
It's important to wear protective equipment in a contact sport like football is a must. Your child should wear a mouth guard to prevent dental injuries.
