Brian Westbrook 2002 Draft Day Picks

Brian Westbrook was born on September 2, 1979 in Fort Washington, Maryland. Although Westbrook is not the most skilled, biggest, or athletic player he has always used his drive and determination to make his way to the top of any level that he has ever competed at. For this reason, he is known as one of the most complete and versatile players in the entire football world. This is saying a lot when you take all of the great players into consideration.

Westbrook played high school football at DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland. Year in and year out DeMatha is a powerhouse in high school football and this held true during Westbrooks time at the school. Although he did not get a lot of attention from college recruiters, he did do enough to get a few looks from the next level.

After high school Westbrook took his game to Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although he had to fight through several injuries while in college, he still managed to become one of the best players that this level has ever seen. He still holds the NCAA record for all purpose yards with 9,512. On top of all those yards Westbrook also scored 84 touchdowns during his time at Villanova. He finished off his college career by winning the Walton Payton Award which is given annually to the best player in NCAA Division I-AA.

Although Westbrook had a great college career NFL teams were hesitant to pick him in the 2002 NFL Draft due to his small size (58), injuries, and small college experience. But the Philadelphia Eagles decided to take a chance in the third round, and this ended up being a very good decision. In 2004 he finally got a chance to start a few games, and he did a great job by rushing for more than 800 yards. He followed this up with back to back seasons of 1,000 total yards or more in 2005 and 2006.

School grants for adults - why everybody should apply - Business

It's that time of year again; the leaves are starting to turn and the air is beginning to cool off ever so slightly in the evenings and mornings. Kids are going to bed early simply because summer is over and school is back in swing. Now that Labor Day is over, numerous families are getting back into the swing of school and homework, high school football, and science fair projects. What's changing all over is that going back to school is not just for children any more.

Increasingly more adults are thinking about returning to college for themselves, whether it is for an initial time degree, or for a graduate degree. Working adults who go back to school know that attaining even higher levels of education can help them in their quest to enter upper management at work, or even to enter a new field of work altogether. If you've been thinking about going back to school, but just haven't gotten around to it yet, now is a fantastic time to explore your options.

Graduate schools grants or totally free cash for graduate school are mostly supplied by universities and numerous private organizations in order to attract more students to select the particular field. For instance, you may find particular graduate-school-grants obtainable for specific programs like microbiology or biotechnology. If you're interested in any of these particular courses, you are able to easily avail them instead of choosing a mainstream graduate grant program.

Apart from specifically created graduate grants, you may also find specialized grants available to assist an individual to attain his dreams and excel academically. Such grants can be free money for graduate school for minorities, single mothers, women etc.

Due to the huge number of student scholarships loans and grant programs obtainable, one may discover that the amount of available cash is limitless. Also there are no specifications about the number of grant programs you can avail. So you are able to apply and acquire any number of free cash for graduate school or grants that will help you to pay your college fees and you'll still have surplus cash left.

You can guarantee yourself a scholarship for college if you know just what to do. You could seek out first, the right body to apply to; you should know what kinds of examinations to write, and you should know also which schools to apply to. Anything short of these being in place, and you could miss out on the chance by a long short.

There are ways to go about securing yourself that juicy tuition scholarship, but you have to be attentive. You must approach the providing body the best you can and put your best foot forward. If they like you, you get the money; if they don't, you're out in the streets.

College is by no means an easy thing to afford these days - or ever. So many people who desire to realize that dream get to do it through scholarships and grants. If you are certain about going to college, and you know already that you don't have the funds for it, you might want to look at your scholarship options already.

Scholarships don't come cheap or easy; you always have to be at the top of your game for you to qualify. You cannot even entertain the doubt that you might not be good for it; otherwise you have lost it already. So ask yourself: are you?

People and bodies that provide scholarships are usually very strict about it. They don't permit a lot of room for errors, so you cannot do that to yourself either. Study if that is what you must, or work out the best you can. If it will get you that scholarship, it is worth it.

School Fundraising- Is a Candy Bar Fundraiser a Good Choice for My School? - Business - Fundraising

The type of fundraiser that you choose will greatly impact the profitability and success of your fundraising efforts. There are many different school fundraising options from candy fundraisers to cookie dough fundraisers to car washes and catalog sales. All can be profitable choices for your school. Let's look at some factors to consider as you strive to determine if a candy fundraiser is an appropriate choice for your next fundraising endeavor.

Do You Have the Initial Investment Available?

Candy bar fundraising requires an initial investment. Basically your school will purchase cases of candy bars and then will sell them and keep any money earned. While these fundraisers are often very profitable, you will have to invest money upfront, so if your school doesn't have money to put down you may want to choose another fundraising option like a cookie dough fundraiser or a catalog sale.

Who Will Buy Your Candy Bars?

Candy bar fundraisers can be especially profitable when the product can be sold at school. For example if your high school football team carries around bags of candy bars they may be able to sell many to fellow students between classes and before and after school. Many schools have nutritional regulations that may limit your ability to sell at school. If you plan to sell outside of the school you need to figure out who the students will sell to and where so that you aren't left with a lot of product that you can't move. Since you invest in the candy bars in advance any items not sold cost you money and cut into profits.

How Large is the Fundraiser?

Candy bar school fundraisers are often a great choice for smaller school groups and organizations. This is primarily because the fundraiser can be very profitable, even if you aren't able to sell a large amount of product. Often you can earn profits around 50% even with only selling one case. If you do have a small group make sure that you find a fundraiser that you can handle. If you have a large group, it might be worth doing some research to find out if another type of fundraiser like catalog sales or cookie dough fundraising could be more profitable.

Is the Fundraiser Seasonal?

Even if you decide to go with a candy bar fundraiser you will still need to choose your product. There are many different types of product available, so you can easily host a seasonal candy bar fundraiser or an anytime fundraiser. Both can be profitable. If you are hosting a seasonal fundraiser make sure that your sale won't be competing with other school fundraisers held at the same time. For example if your school is hosting a school wide holiday gift wrap fundraiser it might not be the best time to also hold a holiday candy fundraiser. Remember people only have so much money available and if your fundraisers are competing against each other you might be cutting into profits.

Selling candy bars, suckers and other treats can be a great school fundraising option. Use these questions found in this article to determine if your next fundraiser should be a candy bar fundraiser.

College Sports Recruiting Opportunities Help Girls Through Bad Economy - Sports

When contemplating strategies for getting financial help with colleges in such a dire economy, getting recruited to play college sports should be at the top of any student-athlete's list. Given that premise, in the environment that men's college football recruiting has created, girls rule, and mens football recruiting may be the best thing that ever happened to womens college recruiting.

How does mens football recruiting fit into the equation? A disproportionately large number of mens scholarships go to football (up to 85 per school). To equalize sports opportunities across both genders, colleges support a broad range of womens sports via scholarships. In fact, female athletes who start planning very early in high school may even be able to pick up a sport they have never competed in before, and find great athletic scholarship opportunities through the college recruiting process. And for those who worry that athletics will take the focus off of academics, fear not, as female athletes have even higher college graduation rates than female college students who dont compet e (Division 1 -71% vs. 64%, and Division 2 -64% vs. 51%--compiled from NCAA sources).

By the time girls get to high school, most know if they're athletically inclined, and they have usually narrowed in on one or two sports of choice. But reality sometimes intervenes. A female student-athlete may have picked a sport that is highly competitive and she doesnt make the team. She may not like the coaching staff or they may not like her. She may have an injury that prevents her from pursuing her sport of choice. She may be interested in other things like student government or theatre, which conflict with the timing of the sport season. Or she may just get burned out or bored with her sport. What should a committed student-athlete do if she can't pursue her favorite sport?

There are all kinds of interesting sports opportunities available to girls who are willing to learn about them. Scholarships are offered for women in 24 sports in Division 1 and Division 2. If these sports are not offered at the high school level, there are probably club or recreational teams available somewhere nearby. It may be fairly easy to establish oneself as a player because many of these sports don't necessarily get the press that more high profile sports like women's basketball or volleyball get, so it may be more of a struggle for college programs to recruit players.

Here's what the landscape looks like. For girls, the sports that are offered at a large percentage of colleges and offer a fair number of scholarships per school are:

Basketball Volleyball Cross country/track and field Soccer Tennis Softball Golf Swimming/Diving

Here are some sports that arent available in as many schools, but have plenty of scholarships to give at the schools that have programs:

Field Hockey Gymnastics Lacrosse Rowing Equestrian Ice Hockey

And here's a fairly long list of sports that are offered in fewer schools and with less scholarships per school but they still have scholarships to give. Coaches in these programs may have a harder time filling these spots so they might offer great opportunities as well:

Bowling Fencing Skiing Synchronized swim Water Polo Archery Badminton Rugby Squash Team Handball

I am the mother of boys, not girls, but I know a good sale when I see one. Colleges are serving up a double whammy right nowvery difficult to get accepted, even more difficult to figure out how to pay for it. Participating in college athletics may make a student-athlete more attractive to an admissions committee, and may result in a scholarship that will cover a large part of the cost. If I was the mother of a female student-athlete and my daughter were even moderately inclined toward athletics, but hadn't settled on one sport yet, or was shut out from the sport she loved for some reason, I would encourage her to expand her athletic horizons a little.

So go ahead, girls -- pick up a hockey stick (field or ice, any kind will do), a bow and arrow, a fencing foil, a bowling ball, or another sporting implement you haven't experienced before. Do a little research to see what schools offer scholarship programs for women in these sports. If these schools match your general criteria for a good college fit, you should pursue them. A few years of training and the world is wide open to you, if youre a dedicated female athlete.

Football - School Football, Component 1 - Sports

If you're fascinated in football, primarily in college football, browse on to learn some helpful insight into your roots from the sport.Within the 1890s college football had previously developed solid emotions of appreciate and loathe. Big-time eastern football had demonstrated that it could draw massive crowds, build alumni support, and develop an identification that will draw in new students. The fact that it had minor to carry out with classical education bothered only the traditionalists on campus as well as a handful of crotchety purists elsewhere who wrote critically of football in magazines, newspaper article content, and official higher education studies.

Outward appearances may have transformed, however the gridiron difficulties in that period seem remarkably similar towards the existing. In the 1890s big-time recruiters and alumni contacts scoured the eastern prep schools for gifted juniors and seniors wanting to entice them to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton. From time to time, unscrupulous alumni convinced college students to quit substantial school previous to they graduated as a way to enroll at an institution which has a big-time team. Boosters funneled tuition dollars to very poor but athletically proficient boys from the coal fields of Pennsylvania along with the industrial cities in the Northeast to preparatory colleges so as to prepare them for big-time college athletics. Several of these youthful adult males had been within their mid-twenties when they eventually entered university. Other athletes went from college to college advertising their companies, phantom people who had no academic ties using the institution. Big-time alumni football entrepreneurs--the counterpart of today's athletic directors--arranged a schedule of games which started with weak groups and worked up to large income video games held in New york, Boston, and Philadelphia. Gridiron profits supported stadium making, sumptuous living quarters and instruction tables for gamers, also as Pullman cars and trucks for retinues of trainers, massagers, alumni coaches, and other hangers-on who followed the team to the massive video games. What was left around went to assistance an array of lesser sports that big-time football had eclipsed. With the significant football educational facilities critics complained that football players became the campus elite, admired by their fellow pupils and regarded skeptically by several faculty. From the absence of specialist football, players basked inside awareness with the media, as well as names on the gridiron stars appeared frequently in the sports pages of significant city newspapers. Even university faculty and presidents needed to be properly worshipful of football and its elite simply because they realized that football advertised their universities and helped to retain the loyalty of alumni. As being a final result, they usually overlooked or remained blissfully unaware of scams to confess unqualified students, perform athletes who in no way enrolled, or resort to stratagems to keep weak players eligible.Even though booster organizations didn't exist external of alumni groups, booster alumni and townspeople, college student managers, and also faculty engaged in unethical functions. A Princeton alumnus named Patterson entertained football people and produced each effort to entice them to his alma mater. Authorities at Swarthmore lured the huge lineman, Bob ("Tiny") Maxwell, from your College of Chicago and organized for the president of the college to pass his bills to a notable alumnus. Professor Woodrow Wilson, a fanatic Princeton fanatic, shameless ly used football when he spoke to alumni organizations and vigorously opposed football reform inside the 1890s and early 1900s. In contrast, Theodore Roosevelt, a Harvard graduate, who gloried inside strenuous everyday life and strongly supported Harvard football, turned in opposition to football brutality in 1905 and initiated the first efforts in his capacity as president to reform the spirit wherein big-time football teams competed. We know that the prototype for athletic business started at eastern institutions inside 1880s and 1890s. Yale's Walter Camp, "the father of American football," became the model for the coach and athletic director. Whilst pursuing a business career, he also acted as Yale's de facto vice president for athletic operations, who dominated the rules committees and ceaselessly publicized the sport. Within the earnings of massive video games in Boston and Ny, Camp made an ample reserve fund that supported lesser sports, afforded lush cure for athletes, and provided the money that eventually went toward setting up Yale Bowl, the first from the contemporary football stadiums. By doing Yale into an athletic powerhouse, Camp developed the school's status, rendering it second only to Harvard. Due to the fact he succeeded so perfectly, Camp became the first big-name foe of sweeping football reforms--and an particularly hard-core opponent in the ahead pass.Because of the turn of century the fatalities of gamers in football led state legislators to introduce legal guidelines banning the gridiron video game.

Gamers for big-time groups, critics charged, were coached to injure their opponents or "put them from enterprise." The nature from the video game, with its mass formations and momentum plays, produced football less an athletic contest than a collegiate version of warlike combat. Gradually the violence in football led to attempts to cut back its brutality through reforms. New guidelines place a strong emphasis on much better officiating and on a lot less harmful formations, nonetheless they didn't automatically enhance the athletic setting. The fatalities and brutality presented a fantastic chance to root out the worst excesses from the runaway football culture. Within the 1890s and early 1900s, responding to public impression, professors and presidents invested a lot of time talking regarding the overemphasis of intercollegiate athletics--and, in some circumstances, passing rules in the convention and institutional degree to regulate school sports. Why, then, did school pre sidents and faculty, who had much far more authority over their college students than their fashionable counterparts, fail to regulate the gridiron beast? Put in a different way, why did college presidents and faculty normally by themselves turn out to be a part of the athletic issue?. A person problem could be that faculty members played big roles in introducing early football. Along with Woodrow Wilson, who served as a part-time coach at Wesleyan, an English teacher at Oklahoma who had just lately arrive from Harvard, Vernon Parrington, taught the fundamentals of football to the windswept apply discipline in Oklahoma. At Miami University of Ohio the president referred to as on all able-bodied members of the faculty to go out for football. Within a sport amongst North Carolina and Virginia a member of your North Carolina faculty scored the profitable touchdown. Typically the faculty proved helpful for the budding football applications in other tactics these kinds of as offe ring athletes passing grades or writing content arguing that football created intellect. Only a handful, like Wisconsin's Frederick Jackson Turner, designed a determined energy to root out the abuses from the tradition of school football these as the intense media consideration offered to your sport and its tendency to cushion star athletes from academic needs. Which was more than a century in the past. After we flip into the eighties and 1990s what do we encounter? Outward appearances of football might have altered, but the problems seem hauntingly equivalent. Big-time football groups induce players to attend their institution with provides of autos and dollars as well as running booster operations to funnel funds to blue-chip players. Players who get unique admission or enter the institution fraudulently achieve this only to play football and often leave without graduating. Universities deal with to maintain their gamers qualified by production credits or by easing them in to very simple courses in which there're assured of getting passing grades. Some coaches engage in violence towards gamers in practice and in many cases aim to drive them from college to ensure that they can use their scholarship slot.Athletic departments and institutional officers have become obsessed together with the likely for profits from televised large video games or bowl games. Big-time teams in the NCAA make an effort to manipulate the business in order that they're going to be able to have extra coaches, scholarships, and only minimal academic necessities. Gamers commit acts of violence and brutality, then handle to prevent the implications.

University presidents whose salaries and prominence drop far brief from the head football coaches dutifully demonstrate up at football video games and affiliated alumni occasions, treading cautiously across the mire of big-time college athletics. All of this has added as much as important athletic scandals, almost all of them involving big-time football. Scandals this kind of as the pay-for-play violations at Southern Methodist and Auburn from the late 1970s to the early 1990s man-aged to create inner disruptions and bad publicity at numbers of big-name institutions. Still, despite the apparent flaws in college football, it continues to enlarge its grip on the big universities. The athletic foundations persist in enlarging their enormous gridiron complexes, selling the rights to order tickets for upscale luxurious boxes and suites, and after that accumulating extra revenues for the sale of high-priced tickets. The main teams have created indoor facilities from donations tha t may have gone to deserving but impoverished non-athletes for scholarships. Even though quasi-professional student-athletes perform the game, regular college students have very little to do with all the sport. In an atmosphere of highly specialised profession coaches, publicists, trainers, and tutors, school football displays over actually the professionalism that reformers very long in the past set out to de-emphasize.Nobody would deny that football constitutes among the most entertaining and pleasant spectator sports. While in the early days some faculty considered which the college student enthusiasm for football would permit the establishments to relieve the pervasive antisocial conduct of undergraduates. Staying knowledgeable of its appeal, most athletic critics and reformers attempted to vary football fairly than to abolish it. The handful of colleges that dropped football did so it since the school had no option or, occasionally, simply because a higher education pre sident occurred to wield unusual energy at a vital minute in football's background. Much and away the biggest group of thoughtful gridiron critics have tried to reform football and also to reshape it in this kind of a way that it in shape far more reasonably and appropriately to the spirit and everyday living from the university. Why have they not succeeded?Beginning inside 1890s and continuing in to the 1990s, reformers have expended tens of thousands of hrs attending meetings and conferences, devising new guidelines to solve the latest complications that have cropped up, and typically attempting to operate out greater systems for their possess institutions; inside early 1900s moderate reformers founded the NCAA to cope with fatalities and brutality and also to set football securely under the thumb from the faculty and school presidents. All over again in the early 1950s, within a groundswell of outrage from cheating, gambling, and subsidies for athletes, college presidents and faculty members tried to generate stricter specifications to scale back the greed and professionalism in football somewhat than to drop it entirely. From the 1980s and early 1990s an outbreak of scandal in big-time football resulted the identical reaction of temporary uneasiness and halting reforms which had grow to be by then a pattern within the heritage of university football.

The outbreak from the eighties once again obviously emphasized the failure of reform to carry about serious transform. In 3 major intervals of gridiron upheaval the schools are actually unable or unwilling to eradicate the triggers of continual cheating. Whilst political reforms by Congress plus the states have accomplished some enduring good results, football and big-time athletics commonly have had to experience the identical troubles again and again--much like Sisyphus repeatedly pushing the stone uphill. Why does big-time football control to get practically frequently inside of a state of crisis? Is there some top quality about football, or higher education sports usually, or a flaw in higher schooling which brings about this turmoil? In case the Greek perfect of education stands for the education of entire body, spirit, and mind, why have the schools failed so abysmally at their mission?Great query, isn't really it? But the remedy is beyond the subject of this article - and, unfortunately, over and above the experience of your school football authorities.

The Proper Equipment for a High School Wrestling Meet - Hobbies - Games

High school sports are a serious matter in most regions of the country and as athletic programs evolve, so should their facilities and equipment. There are many sports where in fact it's quite easy to host a game or tournament such as basketball or football. For basketball, there is not an overwhelming amount of equipment needed, so long as you have basketball hoops and a ball. There are some sports, however, that as an athletic director, can be challenging to accommodate due to equipment and spacing needs. Wrestling matches and tournaments are extremely popular and competitive amongst high schools, but do not let the daunting task of researching and purchasing the proper gymnasium equipment and mats prevent your school from hosting an event.

Depending on the state your high school is located; you have the option of getting a wide variety of mats based on their thickness, color, and size. Most mats are either 1-inch or 1.25-inches thick and contain padding or foam to protect wrestlers against injuries due to contact with a hard surface. Mats can be almost any color and therefore most schools will match their mat colors to their school colors. For meets and tournaments, the mats are typically 42'x42' and therefore having a gym to accommodates these large mats is important. Mats unfortunately do not come cheap and, depending on their size and quality, can range anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Also, if you have a relatively small high school, and perhaps consequently a small wrestling team, you may only need one or two mats for practice and meets. However, if you are an athletic director for a larger school and intend on hosting weekend tournaments, you may want to look into purchasing mats in bulk .

Because you want to take care of your mats so they can be used year after year, it may be wise to purchase gym floor covers. Gym floor covers will help keep dirt from foot traffic off your new mats and can also provide protection to your gym floors themselves. Because wrestling tournaments can attract many of viewers, you will want to be sure you are minding the cleanliness and treatment of your equipment.

As you are planning the meet, gym wall pads should not be overlooked. In fact, as an athletic director, coach, or maintenance manager, you should be insisting that gym wall pads are present for protecting areas where high impact sports are played including, but not limited to, wrestling, basketball and gymnastics.

Finally, if you have a large gym, but wrestling meets are competing with other sports in the high school for space; invest in a gym divider curtain. These useful curtains act as walls in your gym and will help all the different sports cooperatively operate without impeding on each other's space.

Sure, it's true that there are specific items such as gym divider curtains and mats that are needed for wrestling meets and tournaments, but with some preparation and quality research, your school will be hosting meets, large or small, in no time.

Summer high schools are the academies which takes in students who stay there for long periods of time typically only returning home over a few month vacation once or more a year, this would usually be the summer vacation time but varies between academies. The private academies for boys are good for them that cannot stay out of trouble or away from bad influences without 3rd party interference and need constant supervising by more than one individual.

These days so many online academies for teens in Arkansas are available that provide world class tutoring programs on distance mode. Online high schools are a benefit to those who travel or keep unusual schedules, such as child actors. The availability of an online high school is also a benefit to young people who have difficulty adapting to classroom settings and might otherwise drop out.

There are usually two reasons why parents would seek out Christian high schools for their children. One reason is that these parents believe their children should have a well-rounded education which includes developing their spiritual maturity, which a Christian education can provide for them. They believe that a Christian education can give their children a better chance to not just get good education but also to be happy in life.

Catholic high schools in Arkansas put emphasis on Christian values and excellent education; they provide a safe, healthy and stimulating environment where children can flourish. Cost Effective Summer High Schools Programs for Girls - Education - College and University

Many summers high school students are already familiar with computers, but requiring online classes for high school students gives them what might be their first opportunity to explore online coursework. Online learning requires students to manage their time efficiently. Keeping deadlines and making class meeting times is different when the course is online. Students who have taken high school classes online are more likely to be comfortable with online technical training programs and other degree programs when they enter college.

Private high schools have the usual core subjects and extracurricular activities present in traditional high schools, but with additional military-inspired activities. It's not unusual for high school military schools to have extracurricular activities like riflery, JROTC, marching band and similar activities, or for core subjects to include courses about naval navigation, rocketry, military history, and similar courses. Online high programs are a non-traditional form of education that uses the internet to deliver distance education.

Junior middle high schools have a great track record for college matriculation as well as developing students who are athletically gifted. Students are not forced to take part in military-inspired extracurricular activities. For example, most schools do not require all students to join JROTC. Students with different interests can still flourish in military schools. After all, when scholars learn to be responsible for them and strive for excellence, they pick up important life skills along the way that are beneficial to any field that they choose.

High schools football often associates themselves with branches of the armed forces like the navy, air force or the marines. Students who want to get into careers with particular branches of the armed forces often select the high school that suits their ambition. A student who attends military high program is under no obligation to be part of the army after graduation. These academies usually have hundreds of students both male and female and not all of them are interested in joining the army. The schools often have both cadets and civilians. The cadets that are found in military high schools are from other states and other countries while the civilian students are usually from the local state.

High schools basketball offers a comprehensive education program, with an aim to develop the physical and mental faculties of a young student. These programs are especially suited to people seeking military careers in the future. These are usually private boarding schools, either all-boys or co-ed. From adolescence to adulthood, young minds brimming with energy, creativity and ambition need proper guidance, to steer them clear of damaging vices and offer counseling for the troubled. Contrary to popular belief, these are not just for the rich. There are scholarships available.

There are many types of Christian high Schools for youth. Residential Schools of religious correction are established for troubled youth who are out of hand and need long term rehabilitation. Homes where instruction is given to bring misguided youth into the religious fold are also established by the church. Short term school programs include Sunday school programs, summer school camps, youth camps and boot camps. Separate camps are organized for boys and for girls. The beneficial result of the efforts of Christian academies for boys are that they bring faith and hope to misguided adolescents and restore their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Catholic schools are generally not set up to deal with students with extraordinary problems; they probably do not have, for example, a special education program and the staffing to support it. Catholic high schools do not have to admit any or all students who apply; they can test students and only admit those students without significant problems. This is why average test scores at Catholic high institute swill always are significantly higher than in public education schools. These academies can help provide a well rounded education. However unlike public schools, catholic schools charge tuition. While this may be less expensive than some other alternative private schools it can still be a hard amount to budget if you are not prepared for it, therefore it is a good idea to apply for assistance.

NCAAF Picks and College Football Predictions: Preview of the Florida Gators with Tm Tebow - Sports - Football

The Florida Gators are coming off a great season although for the Gators it was a disappointment because they lost to Alabama and didn't get a chance to defend their National Championship. The big question this year is how the Gators will perform without their all everything quarterback Tim Tebow who is on to the NFL.

The job of replacing Tim Tebow will go to John Brantley who comes to Florida after being one of the most prolific passing quarterbacks in the history of High School Football in the state of Florida.

Brantley is a good pocket passer and although Florida won't be able to make up for the short yardage downs that Tebow perfected, he should do well behind an offensive line with a lot of depth that returns three seniors and a junior. Florida actually toned down their offense last season because of Tebow's ability to run but they will get back to that traditional wide open Gator offense with Brantley. The biggest question on the offense are their wide receivers as they lost two big play guys in Riley Cooper and Aaron Hernandez at tight end who went to the NFL. Florida does not have a true number one receiver as someone is going to have to step up and the most likely of the bunch is Junior Deonte Thompson. Thompson is a speedy wide out and Andre Debose was injured in 2009 with a bad hamstring but has similar skills to Percy Harvin.

On the defensive side of the ball Florida lost both of their defensive ends who were drafted into the NFL's second round. They have some guys returning who have started upfront in Omar Hunter, Jayne Howard and Terron Sanders along with a recruiting class that gave them the nation's top three defensive linemen. They lost two linebackers and the most noted was Brandon Spikes who was drafted in the NFL but the Gators will be oaky here as they have some great athletes at this position. Senior A.J Jones will lead this line backing core as he was a starter at times over the past two seasons. The secondary is intact as well with two Gators returning that will be all SEC candidates and Strong safety Ahmad Black who was All-SEC last season.

Florida has been a top three team in the nation for recruiting over the past few years and although they lost nine players to the NFL draft, they will reload with new stars emerging. The Gators will have two new assistant coaches and they aren't as highly ranked because of the departure of Tim Tebow. Our College Football experts for NCAAF Picks report that with Myer at the helm, the Gators will compete for the SEC Championship again in 2010 and possibly a National Championship if they can get by Alabama.
